time@work Version 2.3
LLP is pleased to announce a new time@work Version 2.3.0 which be released on October 20th 2003
Version 2.3 brings many additions and enhancements. The two most important ones are:
- An easier-to-use and faster interface for time and expense entry using the latest internet .Net technologies
- Project-oriented, browser-based, approval steps for Project Managers and Customers
In detail:
System
- The extension of the generic data import tool to include transactions for Import into Actuals or Budget ledgers
- The task scheduler is extended to cover the scheduled execution of Timesheet Generation Profiles, Transmission Profiles and Approval Status creation
- Archiving (or copying) of selected data from Actuals or Budget Ledgers to Archive Ledgers.
Project Approval
- A new approval step is provided (in the Professional Services Workbench and the Customer Services Workbench) to enable multiple Employees and multiple Customer Employees to approve (or query or reject) time and expense records for a Project
Timesheets and Expense Forms
- Partial Submission is enabled by Timesheet Type. This allows an Employee to submit selected (whole) days in a timesheet and complete the remaining days included in the timesheet at a later date
- Projects are pre-filled in Timesheets if an Employee's schedule contains them for the appropriate period
- Expense Forms are no longer explicitly associated with Timesheet Periods and the request for specification of an Timesheet Period when an Expense Form is started is omitted
- 'Already logged on' message removed from Professional Services and Customer Services Workbench
Current Periods
- A new concept of 'current periods' has been introduced (Current Period, Year to Date, Last Year to Date, etc.). This is useful in Inquiry Profiles and Timesheet Generation Profiles, particularly when they are used the Task Scheduler.
Data Maintenance
- Client, Project and Task names extended to 100 characters
- Project Description is extended to 500 characters
Professional Services Workbench
- New graphical style throughout
- Grid-based Timesheet and Expense Forms
- Approval Profiles for the approval or rejection of time and expenses for a Project
Budgeting
- Enhanced 'over budget' checking, allowing the comparison of any time or calculated value in transactions being posted with any time or calculated value in the Budget. It is possible also to suppress budget comparison for specified Activity Analysis values. (These enhancements allow, for example,
monetary budget comparisons, or comparisons of 'rounded' time against budgeted time, and the suppression of comparison for activities such as travel)
Invoicing
- Time and expenses cannot be invoiced if subject to Employee or Customer Employee Approval and not approved, or not timed out. Option to override this by approving from the Invoice worksheet
- Option to suppress Invoice Approval and Review by Invoice Type
- Document Rounding - to ensure, for example, that summarised VAT values are correct when calculated from summarised Net amounts
Reporting
- 'Current Period' values are forwarded to Crystal Reports to enable grouping of data in Crystal templates
Security
- Data access control over Timesheet Entry and Ledger Export
